About
Small on purpose, and clear about what we turn down.
Three people in an office in downtown Tampa. We are not a national brand with a call centre, we do not buy leads, and about a third of the people who contact us are told they do not need us.
Why this practice exists
Dana spent eleven years on the furnisher side of consumer lending — the side that sends data to the bureaus. That is where you learn something the consumer side never sees: how ordinary it is for a field to be wrong. A date that shifts when a portfolio is sold. A limit that reports as zero after a system migration. A payment applied on the 29th and reported on the 31st.
None of that is malice. It is a very large volume of data moving between systems that were not designed together. But the person it lands on has no visibility into any of it, is usually told the report is correct, and is then sold a “credit repair” programme by somebody promising forty points in ninety days.
So: a small practice that reads files properly, disputes what is actually wrong, says so when nothing is, and publishes the whole method free because it is not a secret and never was.
What a first conversation is actually like
You send us your three reports, or we walk you through pulling them free. We read them and come back with a list: here is what we think is disputable and precisely why, and here is what we think is accurate and is going to stay. That review costs nothing and there is no card involved.
Roughly a third of the time the honest conclusion is that there is little worth disputing, and the useful work is the statement-date fix and time. We say that, send the free guide, and there is no invoice. It is a strange business model and it is the only one we could write this website for.

The three of us
Everyone here reads files. Nobody here is a salesperson.
There is no commission structure, because a commission structure is how a practice ends up telling someone they need a service they do not need.

Dana Okoye
Founder · dispute practice
Eleven years in consumer lending operations before this, most of it on the furnisher side — which is where you learn how a wrong date of first delinquency actually gets into a file. Writes most of the guides.

Marcus Delgado
Coaching · tri-bureau tracking
Came from non-profit credit counselling and still refers people back there when settlement or a debt management plan is the honest answer. Runs the utilisation and payment-sequencing work.

Compliance · client contracts

The refusals
Six things we will not sell you.
Two of these are unlawful. Two are lawful and unreliable. Two are lawful, reliable and simply not what we do. All six are things you can be sold today by a company with a nicer website than this one.
Advance fees
Prohibited by CROA, and the single clearest signal of a company that should not be hired.
Score promises
A number, a range, a timeframe. Nobody can know them, so nobody should say them.
Serial re-filing
Disputing the same accurate item month after month to produce activity on an invoice.
Debt settlement
A legitimate tool that damages credit deliberately. If it is what you need, we refer you and take nothing.
Authorised-user tradeline brokering
Buying a stranger’s account history. Scoring models actively discount it and lenders treat it as misrepresentation.
“Credit privacy numbers”
Using an EIN or a stolen SSN in place of your own. It is fraud, and people go to prison for it.
Required notice
No fee before the work is done
No money is charged or received before the promised services have been fully performed. There is no setup fee, no retainer, no deposit and no “file audit” charge at Uptick Credit.
You are billed for a cycle of work after that cycle is complete, and you may stop at any time without owing anything for work not yet performed. A company that asks you for money before it has done anything is breaking federal law, and that is reason enough to walk away from it.
Credit Repair Organizations Act, 15 U.S.C. §1679b(b).

You can do all of this yourself, for free
You have the right to dispute inaccurate information in your credit report yourself, at no cost, by contacting the consumer reporting agency directly. Nothing we do requires a fee to be effective. Everything on this page is a right you already hold under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Get your free reports from the only federally authorised source: annualcreditreport.com. Do not pay a site that charges for them, and do not use a lookalike domain.
Our free do-it-yourself guide is the same process we run for clients, written out in full: how to read the file, what a dispute must contain, the addresses, the statutory windows, and what to do when a bureau answers “verified”. It asks for no email address and sells nothing.
